Liberty Christian School was formed in the summer of 1992 for the purpose of providing an excellent Biblically-based education for families in Lima and its surrounding communities.
First housed in the Trinity Wesleyan Church on Market Street, the school is a community school supported by tuition, fundraising and donations from individuals, churches, and businesses. In the summer of 1994, the school moved to Liberty Temple Church on South Central Avenue. The school remained in this location until the summer of 2002 when it moved to its present location on Bellefontaine Ave in the Family of Faith United Methodist Church building.
Enrollment  at LCS has fluctuated from 20-90 students. A pre-school class was added in the fall of 1997. Our first high school commencement was held in the spring of 2003. Students enjoy participating in marching and concert bands, choir, student council, 4H, and yearbook staff.

The school has used Abeka Curriculum, a strong phonics based curriculum, in the preschool and early grades. We have also used the ACE and Christy Kindergarten Curriculum. Kindergarten students are reading words by mid-year and stories by the end of the school year. The upper grade levels use the Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum which is an individulalized program promoting
self-determined learning goals. In addition to the academics, students have a daily Bible class and memorize many scriptures throughout the year. A bi-weekly chapel service is held for all students with area pastors participating.
